J & A Transmission & Auto Service Inc. is a family-owned business, run by brothers John McNabb and Aaron McNabb. Both are lifelong residents of Morris and ASE Master Certified Technicians.
In 1990, John McNabb graduated from the Academy of Automatics and opened a transmission rebuilding shop called John's Transmission. Aaron McNabb, an alumni of Joliet Junior College with an Associates Degree in Automotive Repair, joined his brother in 1994, and the shop became J & A Transmission & Auto Service Inc.
Over the years, continual growth from loyal and new customers has helped J & A Transmission & Auto Service Inc. grow into the full service solution it is today.

Josh is J & A 's Service Advisor. Josh was one of our lead auto techs and he was also a transmission rebuilder. He was promoted to Service Advisor in 2024 and really enjoys helping the customers with their automotive needs. Thank you, Josh for keeping J & A busy with vehicles to repair, and for keeping our customers happy with our service.
Alana has been busy keeping the behind the scenes going for J & A for over 30 years. You will see her in office occasionally, but her home office is where a lot of the magic happens. She is J & A 's lead accountant, lead in their marketing (have you heard her popular rhyming commercials on 95.7 FM? ), and she also finds herself immersed in human resources as the company continues to grow.
Meet J & A's Cindy, She's our Office Manager. When you call J & A, Cindy answers the phone and keeps the day to day operations of J & A running smoothly. We appreciate all her efforts! Cindy has been with J & A since 1997 ! Cindy will retiring in May of 2025. Thank you, Cindy, for over 30 years of service to the McNabb family."
Addie began helping J & A in 2013 when it was time to introduce all Social Media aspects that a business needs for its marketing tool chest. She designed and launched all of our social media pages, she helped set us up with our local Chamber of Commerce, and she also established us on Google! Even though she works as an office administrator for a local company, we appreciate her help establishing all these necessary marketing tools that we continue to use on a daily basis.
Sandy is a wonderful part time addition to J & A's office. We love the few days a week that we get with Sandy. She is like the energizer bunny, and we really appreciate her office skills.
Heidi is our new front office manager and administrator. She has been training under Cindy and has taken ahold of this position with honor and grace. Everyone loves her positive attitude and calm demeanor. Thank you, Heidi, for being by J & A 's side.
